Do I need another grey eyeshadow in my life? I think you meant to ask, ‘why wouldn’t I need another grey shadow in my life.’ A lady or man or none of the above can never have enough grey clothes, nail polishes or eyeshadows. That’s my rule and I’m sticking to it.
Speaking of grey eyeshadow… fresh from Napoleon Perdis’ Cinderella-themed 2013 collaboration with the Australian Ballet is Napoleon Perdis Cinders Color Disc, a limited edition charcoal shimmer eyeshadow.

Napoleon Perdis Cinders Color Disc – applied DRY, over PRIMER, and applied WET
The pigmentation on Cinders is pretty good for a dark eyeshadow, just as long as you’re either applying it to a sticky base like an eyeprimer or foiling it with a damp brush. The shimmer takes on a deep lustrous, almost greenish tinge when applied wet, so I recommend foiling it wet with a damp brush as a base colour and then blending it off with lighter eyeshadows to get the most bang for your buck colour-wise.
Napoleon Perdis Color Discs can be used wet/dry, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different ways of building your colour intensity!
The shadow itself is soft enough to be easily picked up by a brush, but not so soft that it crumbles or gives lots of shadow fallout. It held its colour reasonably well over the course of a day, fading a little after eight hours of wear over an eye primer. For extra colour staying power I’d recommend applying Cinders over a deep charcoal or black cream eyeshadow.

Finally a quick five minute smokey eye using Cinders Color Disc. I haven’t worn makeup this dark in a very, very long time!
